Steelers backup quarterback Charlie Batch will have surgery on his broken left wrist tomorrow and coach Mike Tomlin will hold a roster spot open for him for the foreseeable future.

Tomlin said Batch may miss 2-4 weeks after having a metal plate inserted in his wrist. The break occurred as he fell to the ground after throwing an incomplete pass in Sunday's 27-24 loss at Kansas City.

Tomlin confirmed that starter Ben Roethlisberger had no concussion symptoms yesterday and while doctors will continue to monitor his condition, he is expected to practice this week and play Sunday night in Baltimore.

Dennis Dixon will move up to No. 2 and the Steelers will sign another quarterback, likely Tyler Palko, to the practice squad.

Tomlin also said the Steelers worked out two potential special teams players today and another is on his way to work out for them as they try to stem the tide that has been four kickoff returns for touchdowns against them in the past five games.
