Tax preparer Larry E. Snow pleaded guilty today to one count of a 40-count indictment that accused him of claiming fictitious deductions on his clients' returns.

Mr. Snow, 62, of Seward, filed $24,562 in false deductions on behalf of a client in 2005, he confirmed. The deductions were for charitable contributions, personal property taxes, unreimbursed employee expenses and legal expenses.

He will be sentenced on June 20 by U.S. District Judge Maurice B. Cohill.

The Internal Revenue Service's Criminal Investigations division conducted the probe that led to Mr. Snow's indictment in March.
