Surgery could be next option for Penguins' Comrie

Penguins forward Mike Comrie will confer with a doctor next Monday about a hip injury that has plagued him pretty much all season, coach Dan Bylsma said today.
Bylsma said Comrie has not responded to rehabilitation as hoped. That would make surgery an option.
Comrie, who signed with the Penguins as a free agent over the summer, initially got hurt in the second game of the season, Oct. 9, Bylsma said, but continued to play. He was in and out of the lineup and drew criticism for his lack of production.
He had no goals, five assists in 16 games before he further injured the hip. He has not played since Nov. 24 Tonight's home game against Phoenix will be the 11th game in a row he has missed.
