Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley, who had 7 1/2 sacks and an interception during the team's four-game winning streak, has been named AFC defensive player of the month for October.

Woodley's 7 1/2 sacks in October, which came while Pro Bowl linebacker James Harrison was out with an eye injury, are the second-highest in team history for any month. He also had 25 tackles in the past four games.

Woodley is not expected to play Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens because of a hamstring injury sustained in the victory against the New England Patriots.
