Steelers sign receiver Galloway and long-snapper

The Steelers have signed veteran wide receiver Joey Galloway to their 53-man roster as a replacement for Limas Sweed.
Also, long-snapper Jared Retkofsky was signed to replace Greg Warren, who was placed on injured reserve after he injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on the final play of Sunday's victory against the Green Bay Packers.
Retkofsky played in nine regular-season games and all three postseason games in 2008 when Warren's other knee was injured.
Galloway, 38, visited the Steelers offices this morning because Sweed, a No. 3 draft choice in 2008, has been placed on the reserve/non-football illness list, meaning he cannot play the rest of the season.
This isn't the first time the Steelers considered signing Galloway, a former No. 1 draft choice of the Seattle Seahawks in 1995.
They brought him in during the offseason when they were looking for a veteran receiver to add to their roster. Galloway played two games this season with the New England Patriots, catching seven passes for 67 yards, before he was released on Oct. 20.
