The Steelers released veteran punter Chris Gardocki today.

Gardocki was the team's punter for the past three seasons. He was drafted in the third round in 1991 by the Chicago Bears and also played with the Indianapolis Colts and the Cleveland Browns before joining the Steelers. He has never had a punt blocked in his career, with a league-record 1,177 punts.

In April's NFL Draft, the Steelers drafted punter Daniel Sepulveda in the fourth round out of Baylor University.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
