The Steelers and defensive end Nick Eason have come to terms on a one-year contract.
Eason, who turns 30 next month, has been a backup defensive end with the team the past three seasons. He also has played for Denver and Cleveland. He started five games at defensive end because of injuries to Aaron Smith, Brett Keisel and Travis Kirschke last season.
Eason was an unrestricted free agent, as is Kirschke.
