Jordan Staal's comeback has been derailed.

Staal left the Penguins' practice at Southpointe today because of a broken hand that will require surgery Tuesday and prevent him from playing for up to six weeks.

Staal sat out the first 12 games of this season while recovering from a foot infection, and had targeted their game at Dallas Wednesday for his return to the lineup.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
