The South Fayette Commissioners last night set a May 10 public hearing on proposed changes to the zoning language on gas and oil wells. Township manager Mike Hoy said the township's intent is to balance the right to legitimate exploration against the rights of neighbors.

Commissioners Sue Caffrey and Deron Gabriel are also both planning to attend a May 3-4 Duquesne University conference on gas exploration.

In other business, the commissioners voted to accept a traffic light being installed at Washington Pike and Danielle Drive. The light is being paid for by Giant Eagle.
