The U.S. Senate today voted to confirm two federal judges for Pennsylvania, including one in the Western District.
The unanimous confirmation of Homestead native Mark R. Hornak, 55, to the Western District of Pennsylvania bench fills the district's final vacant spot. Judge Hornak graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh School of Law before spending nearly 30 years at Pittsburgh's Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney law firm.
The Senate also voted 82-17 to confirm Robert David Mariani to the Central District of Pennsylvania bench. Judge Mariani has spent the past 34 years in his hometown of Scranton, Pa., working as a civil litigator.
