Second fire burns same New Castle house

Fire officials are investigating a pair of suspicious blazes at the same vacant house in New Castle over the weekend and last night.
The first fire at the house, in the 500 block of South Walnut Street, occurred Saturday. It was quickly contained. But firefighters returned last night about 10 to put out another blaze at the same address.
No one was injured, but the New Castle fire department needed to call out its entire force, and it took crews most of the night to contain the fire, according to Assistant Chief Joe Bongivengo.
The city fire marshal is investigating, Chief Bongivengo said.
New Castle has seen a string of arsons in recent years. Officials made eight arrests in October.
