Rt. 28 closed Wednesday night

Route 28 will be fully closed in both directions from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday between the 31st and 40th street bridges, PennDOT announced this afternoon.
Spokesman Jim Struzzi said the closure is needed during demolition of part of the Millvale Industrial Park. Traffic will be detoured via the 31st and 40th street bridges and Liberty Avenue.
The work is part of the four-year reconstruction of Route 28 to eliminate traffic signals for through traffic at the two bridges and improve safety.
