Route 22 reopens after fatal car accident

KDKA-TV reported that Route 22 near Rodi Road has reopened after a fatal accident closed parts of it for several hours today.

Route 22 was closed through rush hour in the westbound lane as Allegheny County and Churchill police investigated a single-vehicle crash that left one person dead.

The county medical examiner's office said 81-year-old Mattie Chiles of Churchill died about an hour after the crash after being transported to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville.
