Randal Forrester, leading city gay rights advocate, dies

Randal G. "Randy" Forrester, who for more than three decades was an outspoken advocate for gay and civil rights in Pittsburgh, died yesterday of cancer.
Mr. Forrester, 60, who lived on a houseboat docked at the Fox Chapel Yacht Club, had been in the Forbes Hospice for 10 days prior to his death.
In 1972, he co-founded the Pittsburgh Persad Center, a licensed counseling center serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
