Police investigate death of Crafton Heights infant

City police detectives are investigating the death of an infant this morning in Crafton Heights.

Firefighters discovered the 21-day-old girl unresponsive about 6:18 a.m. when then arrived at her home in the 1500 block of Crucible Street. They gave her CPR, and paramedics provided other treatment before she was taken to Children's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Detectives are investigating because it is protocol on infant deaths. An autopsy will be scheduled.
