Pitt to play Connecticut in Big East quarterfinal

NEW YORK -- Pitt's first opponent at the Big East tournament will be Connecticut, which defeated Georgetown, 79-62 in a second-round game this afternoon at Madison Square Garden.

Pitt and Connecticut will tip-off tomorrow at noon. The Panthers defeated the Huskies 78-63 in the team's only meeting this season, in late December at the Peterson Events Center.

The ninth-seeded Huskies will be playing their third game in three days while the Panthers will play their first game of the tournament. The Huskies beat DePaul in an opening-round game Tuesday afternoon.

Kemba Walker led Connecticut with 28 points.
