INDIANAPOLIS -- Pirates outfielder Alex Presley and infielder Chase d'Arnaud are being activated from the disabled list and will rejoin the team Thursday in St. Louis.

The team will likely announce the move Thursday, once both players arrive in St. Louis. At that time, the team will make a corresponding move to make room on the 25-man roster.

Presley and d'Arnaud were taken out of the Class AAA Indianapolis starting lineup two hours before first pitch tonight. They will fly to St. Louis Thursday morning.

Presley has been on the disabled list since July 23 with a left thumb contusion. He is hitting .333 in 20 games with the Pirates, and helped spark the team to a strong first-half finish. He hit .320 in 12 games of a rehab assignment with Indianapolis, but was hitting .498 with five runs scored and three RBIs in his past five games.

d'Arnaud has been on the disabled list since July 27 with a broken right pinky. He is hitting .225 in 25 games with the Pirates, and was hitting .184 in 12 games for Indianapolis.
