Pirates sign 3 draft picks

The Pirates today signed their first three draft picks: 11th-round outfielder Dave Rubinstein of Appalachian State University, 35th round left-handed starter Tyler Cox of Illinois State University, and 36th round outfielder Kyle Morgan of the University of San Francisco.
Rubinstein batted .332 with nine home runs and 48 RBIs as a junior, becoming Appalachian State's first All-American in 19 years.
Cox was 4-4 with a 4.55 ERA in nine starts as a senior.
Morgan batted .298 with six home runs and 50 RBIs as a senior.
