Pirates cut Sharpless, Maldonado from camp roster

BRADENTON, Fla. -- The Pirates this morning cut reliever Josh Sharpless and catcher Carlos Maldonado from their spring training and reassigned them to the minor-league camp.
The moves, the second of the spring, leave 63 players in major-league camp, including 37 pitchers, five catchers, 13 infielders and eight outfielders.
