The Pirates and Evan Meek agreed to terms on a contract for 2012, reducing the number of unsigned players eligible for arbitration to two.

Meek, 28, was sick early in 2011, which contributed to shoulder tendinitis, and he pitched only 202/3 innings. He made the National League All-Star team in 2010, when he had a 2.14 ERA in 70 appearances.

The Pirates selected the right-hander in the 2007 Rule 5 draft.

Casey McGehee and Garrett Jones are the final two players eligible for arbitration who haven't agreed to terms. The team and the players exchanged desired salary figures today and can continue to negotiate until their arbitration hearing.
