UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. --- Injured Penn State outside linebacker Sean Lee said today that his sprained left knee is feeling better.

But Lee, a fifth-year senior co-captain from Upper St. Clair High School, has not practiced the past two days and it's unlikely that he will play in Saturday's Big Ten Conference opener against Iowa at Beaver Stadium.

Dr. Wayne Sebastianelli will make the final call.

"I'd like to tell you I was definitely going to be on that field, but I don't know," Lee said. "It's really up to [the doctors] and really how I feel later in the week.

"If I'm not 100 percent and I'm not performing at a high level, [they're not] going to put me out there."

Lee, speaking for the first time since being injured Saturday against Temple, said he initially suffered the injury in the second quarter when he took a helmet to the knee. He left the game, but returned in the fourth quarter and tweaked it again before limping off the field.

"I think it just got worse as the game went on," he said.

Lee, who sat out last season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, said he expects outside linebacker Navorro Bowman to play against Iowa. Bowman has missed the past two games with a sore groin.

"He did practice [yesterday] and he looked very good," Lee said. "He looked like his normal self."
