UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- It's official.
Penn State (10-2) will face LSU (9-3) on New Year's Day in Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla.
"I think is going to be one of the top games of the entire season," Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan said.
The Nittany Lions slipped down to the non-BCS bowl after the Orange Bowl chose Iowa (10-2) over Penn State. The Hawkeyes, who beat the Lions, 21-10, during the regular season, will play ACC champion Georgia Tech.
Iowa received the Big Ten Conference's second berth through an at-large berth. Regular-season champion Ohio State will play Oregon in the Rose Bowl.
Penn State is ranked No. 11 in The Associated Press poll today and LSU is No. 13.
