UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- For the first time since late July, Penn State has received a verbal commitment for its 2011 recruiting class.
Princeton (N.J.) Hun School offensive tackle Anthony Alosi verbally committed to the Nittany Lions this weekend.
He is the fifth recruit in Penn State's 2011 class and chose the Lions over Connecticut.
Alosi, standing 6 feet, 6 inches and weighing 288 pounds, was offered a chance to enroll at Penn State last year as a preferred walk-on.
But he elected to attend prep school after attracting scholarship offers from just two Division I-AA schools - Monmouth and Wagner.
