Penn State lands DE recruit

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State picked up another verbal commitment Wednesday.

Defensive end Jordan Kerner from Fairview High School near Erie, Pa., became the third member of the Nittany Lions' 2011 recruiting class. He chose Penn State over Iowa.

Kerner, 6 feet 5 and 225 pounds, earned second-team all-state honors last year as a junior. He is rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com.
