Penguins sign Vitale to 2-year deal

The Penguins have signed Joe Vitale to a two-year contract extension, running through the 2013-14 season, worth $550,000 per season.
Vitale, 26, is a hard-working center who made the team out of training camp. He has three goals, 10 points in 44 games.
He would have become a restricted free agent if not re-signed.
