The Penguins have agreed to a contract with former Phoenix defenseman Zbynek Michalek.

The deal covers five years and is worth $20 million. It includes a limited no-trade clause, under which Michalek could give them a list of eight teams to which he could not be dealt.

Michalek, 27, is an accomplished shot-blocker who plays big minutes and is extremely solid in the defensive zone.
