Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik will miss tonight's game against the New York Rangers at Consol Energy Center because of an undisclosed injury, coach Dan Bylsma said after the club's morning skate. Ben Lovejoy, a healthy scratch lately, will return to the lineup.

Also, the Penguins have recalled goaltender Brad Thiessen from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, and he will serve as the backup to Marc-Andre Fleury tonight because regular backup Brent Johnson is ill.

Thiessen, 25, has not played an NHL game. He was named the top AHL goalie with 35 wins last season. His numbers aren't quite as good this season but are solid: 20-14-2 with a 2.88 goals-against average.
