The Penguins will have the second selection when the National Hockey League conducts its entry draft June 24 in Vancouver.
The league conducted a lottery today to determine draft positions for the 14 teams that did not make the playoffs.
The St.Louis Blues, who had the worst record in the league at 57 points, retained the No. 1 position in the weighted lottery. The Penguins, second-worst at 58 points, retained the second position. The Chicago Blackhawks will pick third.
