LONDON, Ontario -- Defenseman Alex Grant, injured Saturday during a prospects-tournament game in London, Ontario, has been released from the hospital.
Penguins general manager Ray Shero said Grant was diagnosed with a broken wrist and whiplash, but that tests detected no other damage.
Grant is scheduled to be re-examined in Pittsburgh later this week.
He was injured when Ottawa's David Dziurzynski drove him into the boards at 2:22 of the first period during the Penguins' 5-3 victory.
Grant, his neck and extremities immobilized, was removed from the ice on a stretcher and transported to a nearby hospital.
