The Penguins have reduced their training-camp roster to 32 by removing seven players from the major-league roster.
The biggest name to go is left winger Eric Tangradi, who has had a disappointing camp and who does not have to clear waivers to go to their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.
Forwards Ryan Craig, Nick Johnson and Colin McDonald, goalies Brad Thiessen and Scott Munroe, and defenseman Scott Harrington also were cut.
Harrington will return to his junior team (London, of the Ontario Hockey League), while the other six are headed for Wilkes-Barre.
Johnson, Craig, McDonald and Munroe will have to be on waivers until noon Thursday before they can join the Baby Penguins.
