Penguins forward Mike Comrie underwent hip surgery and is expected to miss another three to four months, which would be most of the rest of the regular season. The surgery was performed in Vail, Colo., by Dr. Dr. Marc Philippon.
Comrie first got hurt Oct. 9 in the second game of the season and missed games and practices before coming out of the lineup altogether Nov. 26. He has been on injured reserve since Dec. 10.
He signed in September as a free agent. After a strong preseason, he was slowed by the hip injury and had just five points, all assists, in 16 games.
