WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Penguins have recalled forward Dustin Jeffrey and goalie John Curry from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.
It is not known if Jeffrey will be in the lineup for the Penguins' game against Washington at the Verizon Center tonight at 7:08, but Curry is expected to back up No. 1 goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.
Jeffrey, 22, appeared in three games with the Penguins recently and recorded his first career two-point game in the NHL with a goal and an assist Dec. 11 at Buffalo.
He is tied for fourth in the American Hockey League scoring race and leads the Baby Penguins with 32 points on 14 goals and 18 assists in 27 games. He also has a plus-5 plus-minus rating, four power-play goals and five shorthanded goals.
Curry was recalled because Brent Johnson, the Penguins' usual No. 2 goalie, got a groin injury during their 5-2 victory against Florida Wednesday night.
Curry is 11-5, with a 2.33 goals-against average and .913 save percentage with the Baby Penguins this season.
