UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State coach Joe Paterno said today that he plans to return for his 46th season in 2011.
"I'm looking forward to it," he said during his weekly news conference at Beaver Stadium. "We could be a pretty good football team next year, and I'd like to be part of it.
"It's been a good situation, and I don't see any reason to leave it right now.""
Paterno, who turns 84 next month, is the winningest coach in Division I history with 401 victories.
Penn State closes out its season Saturday by facing No. 11 Michigan State at Beaver Stadium.
