Parkway East restricted in both directions this weekend

Parkway East traffic in both directions will be reduced to a single lane this weekend, weather permitting, as part of ongoing reconstruction. The inbound off-ramp to Wilkinsburg will be closed as well.
No full mainline closures are scheduled, but motorists should expect significant delays. Penguins fans should expect to spend extra time heading to and from the game Saturday night. PennDOT advises drivers to use alternatives such as Route 28 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Work actually will begin tonight, starting at 9 and continuing until 5 a.m. tomorrow. Only one lane will be open outbound from the Edgewood Swissvale Interchange to the Churchill Interchange.
Starting at 9 p.m. tomorrow, only one lane will be open outbound from Edgewood Swissvale to Monroeville. The work continues through 5 a.m. Monday.
On the inbound side, only one lane will be open from Churchill to Edgewood. That work begins tomorrow just before midnight and continues well into Sunday night.
The inbound off-ramp at the Wilkinsburg Interchange to Route 8/Ardmore Boulevard will be closed from 9 p.m. tomorrow through 5 a.m. Monday.
