Oakdale police are making progress in the probes of three burglaries and one attempted burglary that occurred in recent months, Sgt. Thomas O'Rourke told borough council Thursday night.

Officers have made an arrest related to a residential burglary on Hastings Avenue, he said, and they have identified a person of interest related to the theft of a small amount of cash at the Oakdale Inn on Noblestown Road.

Police also are investigating a burglary at TJ's Deli Mart on Clinton Avenue. A second attempted break-in at the convenience store and gas station was thwarted by upgraded security measures, Mr. O'Rourke said.
