North Fayette gives library money to help buy building

North Fayette supervisors voted 3-0 Tuesday night to give the Western Allegheny Community Library about $357,600 to help purchase a building.
Bob Grimm, the township manager, said library officials could close on the purchase of a building by the end of the month.
"They're moving forward, and they wanted to go ahead and have the money available," he said. The money comes from the proceeds of a 2009 township bond issue.
North Fayette, Findlay and Oakdale -- the three municipalities in the West Allegheny School District -- contribute to the library's annual operating costs.
The library is housed in the North Fayette Community Center on Old Steubenville Pike in Imperial but has sought to expand for more than a decade.
"Finally something is going to happen after all these years," supervisor James Morosetti said.
