No surgery for Steelers' Pouncey's injuries

INDIANAPOLIS -- Several more Steelers players have had surgery since the end of the season, but one of those who is not scheduled to do so is center Maurkice Pouncey.
Pouncey did not play in Super Bowl XLV because of a high ankle sprain and a broken bone in his ankle -- the only game he did not start in a rookie season that included selection to the Pro Bowl. As of right now, he will not have surgery because his injuries are healing on schedule on their own.
However, DE Nick Eason (ankle) and G Trai Essex (ankle) each had surgery after the season. They join wide receiver Hines Ward (thumb, knee), linebacker James Harrison (back) and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (foot) as players who had surgery after Super Bowl XLV.
