CINCINNATI -- Pirates relief pitcher Evan Meek, on a rehab stint in Class AAA Indianapolis as he battles right shoulder tendinitis, will most likely rejoin the team in Pittsburgh on Sunday and will be activated for Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Braves.

"He will throw back to back games on Friday and Saturday," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said today of Meek's schedule in Indianapolis. "If he comes out well from all of that, he will rejoin us on Sunday. We have Monday off and he will be fit for duty on Tuesday."

The Pirates would have to make a corresponding move in the bullpen, and likely moves would be sending left-hander Daniel Moskos back down to Indianapolis or designate righty Jose Ascanio for assignment.

Hurdle, since back in spring training, has publicly spoken many times about his preference for two lefties in the bullpen and, as it stands now, Moskos and Joe Beimel are the two left-handed relievers.
