A man was critically injured after being shot on Finley Street in Larimer during a standoff with city police that drew the SWAT team.
Police today identified the man as David Bush, 36.
Police followed the man back to a house in the 500 block of Finley after a woman called 911 to report he had threatened her in her home on Idlewood Street in Homewood at around 10 a.m., dispatchers said.
During the standoff, police called repeatedly for him to surrender.
At around 11:40 a.m., Mr. Bush was shot three times by police after he emerged from the house, raised a sawed-off shotgun, and refused police orders to drop his gun.
Mr. Bush fell to the sidewalk and then was taken to a hospital by paramedics.
Police said he would be charged with a variety of offenses.
Three officers will be placed on administrative leave during a review of the incident.
In March, Mr. Bush was charged with shooting and wounding a man in front of the Allegheny County emergency operations center following a road rage incident.
The SWAT team rushed to the scene in Larimer moments after wrapping up operations at a scene in the 5100 block of Second Avenue in Hazelwood, where a person was taken into custody.
