A man was disarmed and fatally shot with his own gun Monday night in Sharpsburg.
Marlon Roberts, 21, of Lincoln-Lemington, was shot multiple times shortly before midnight after a fight in a townhouse in the 100 block of Sisca Street.
Mr. Roberts was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where he died.
Witnesses described the shooter, Norman Warren, 22 of Wilkinsburg, and police detained him after seeing him a few blocks from the scene.
Allegheny County police said today that Mr. Roberts was a previous boyfriend of the resident of the townhouse and Mr. Warren is the current boyfriend.
Mr. Roberts arrived at the home uninvited. He threatened and assaulted Mr. Warren with a handgun, police said.
During a struggle, Mr. Warren disarmed Mr. Roberts and shot him with the gun. Then Mr. Warren fled and hid the gun, police said.
Mr. Warren was charged with tampering with evidence and violations of the uniform firearms act. The district attorney's office is reviewing the incident and will determine if any further charges are necessary.
