A South Park man charged with causing a fatal traffic crash July 4 on Brownsville road in the township waived his right to a preliminary hearing this morning and will stand trial.
Frank Munsky, 34, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while driving drunk, drunken driving, aggravated assault while driving drunk and other traffic crimes in the death of 92-year-old Mary Fravert of Louisville, Ky.
District Judge Dennis Joyce lowered Mr. Munsky's bond to $25,000 and ordered him to be on electronic home monitoring upon his release from the Allegheny County Jail per prosecutors' recommendations.
Investigators said Mr. Munsky's Jeep Liberty crossed the roadway at 9:23 a.m. and crashed into a Ford Escape, in which Ms. Fravert was a passenger.
Police said Mr. Munsky told them he had gotten off work at the Post-Gazette around 2:15 a.m., and he spent the next seven hours at the home of a friend on the South Side. He said he drank three shots of rum before heading home.
His blood alcohol level was recorded at 0.204, which is about 2 1/2 times the legal limit at which a motorist is considered too drunk to drive.
