Malkin out for Pens' home opener tonight

Center Evgeni Malkin will not play in the Penguins' home opener tonight against Florida, coach Dan Bylsma said this morning.
"It's just soreness," Bylmsa said. "We do not think it's anything other than being sore at this point in time."
Bylsma said that describing Malkin, a former NHL scoring champion and playoff MVP, as day-to-day would be accurate.
Malkin took the ice for the morning skate and did some drills and shooting, but did not participate in line rushes or with the power play.
The Penguins already are without center and captain Sidney Crosby, who continues to practice without contact as he comes back from a concussion.
Crosby said today that he expects his next medical evaluation to come "this week." It's possible he will be cleared for contact then.
