Center Evgeni Malkin is the only Penguin chosen to participate in the NHL All-Star Game.

He was among 48 players, 12 of whom were rookies, selected by the league's Hockey Operations Dept.

The game will be played Jan. 29 in Ottawa.

Malkin has a team-high 45 points, despite appearing in just 35 of the Penguins' first 42 games.

Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury and winger James Neal were considered candidates for inclusion, but were not selected.
