Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said today that center Evgeni Malkin is not expected to play Saturday against Philadelphia.
Malkin, who has a sore right foot, practiced at Southpointe but left early.
Missing practice were defenseman Sergei Gonchar and backup goaltender Brent Johnson. Both are ill.
Bylsma said Johnson has a food-related problem and probably will be OK for Saturday, but Gonchar could miss his second game in a row.
