Letang injury prompts Pens to engage Picard

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The Penguins have recalled defenseman Alexandre Picard from their Wilkes-Barre/Scranton farm club.

Defenseman Kris Letang has an unspecified injury. He practiced Wednesday, but it has not been determined whether he will play tonight against the San Jose Sharks.

Picard, signed as a free agent during the offseason, has played in nine games for Wilkes-Barre and has a plus-minus rating of plus-7.
