WDVE-FM morning host Jim Krenn won't be coming back to the WDVE Morning Show. But he hasn't been fired or let go in the shakeup within the market's top-rated morning show lineup.

"Jim Krenn will no longer be on air with the WDVE Morning Show," said Dennis Lamme, president and market manager of Clear Channel Media & Entertainment-Pittsburgh.

But so far, Mr. Krenn remains an employee of WDVE and Clear Channel. "We are currently in discussion with Jim about his role with the station moving forward," Mr. Lamme said.

Mr. Lamme didn't elaborate on what that new role might be, or the reasons for the decision to remove Mr. Krenn from the show.

Mr. Krenn's agent David Sedelmeier said that his client wants to go back to work.

"Jimmy loves doing morning radio, and he loves his listeners," Mr. Sedelmeier said.

Mr. Krenn has been off the air since Dec. 6. His sudden and unexplained disappearance left some listeners puzzled, although at first many thought he was using year-end vacation time.

But the show was no longer being billed as "Jim and Randy and the WDVE Morning Show," and his name disappeared from the station web site, which also has an opening posted for a morning show host.

On Tuesday, the rest of the morning team--Randy Baumann, Val Porter and Mike Prisuta, will return to the show following their holiday break.
