Jeannette High School football standout Demetrious Cox will announce his college choice tonight, and Michigan State coaches are expected to be smiling.

Cox, a defensive back, will make his college announcement on KDKA television and sources said it will be Michigan State of the Big Ten Conference. Cox's other finalists are Penn State, Ohio State and Wisconsin. Cox just got back today from visiting Wisconsin.

Cox (6 feet 1, 195 pounds) was the Post-Gazette WPIAL Class AA Player of the Year after helping Jeannette advance to the WPIAL Class AA title game.

Although Cox was recruited to play defensive back, he also was a standout quarterback with more than 2,000 yards offense. He rushed for 1,263 yards and threw for 910 during the 2011 season.
