The Washington County coroner has scheduled an inquest in the death of a man who was shocked by a Taser during an altercation with police in November.
Ronald Petruney, 49, of Washington, died Nov. 21 at Washington Hospital. County Coroner S. Timothy Warco said Mr. Petruney was in cardiac arrest when he was admitted to the hospital.
Washington police found Mr. Petruney "in a confused state" when they were summoned to an incident on Jefferson Avenue, Mr. Warco said in November. Mr. Petruney "became combative with police," and was shocked with the Taser, the coroner said.
The inquest will be at 9:30 a.m. April 22 at the county courthouse.
