The Washington County coroner announced today that he plans to hold an inquest into the death of an inmate at the county jail.

Another inmate found Corey Adams, 35, of Canonsburg, lying in a bunk bed in the work release section of the Washington County Correctional Facility on the morning of Oct. 22. The coroner pronounced him dead there shortly after.

The cause and manner of his death were not immediately released, and the coroner could not be reached tonight.

The inquest will be held at 10 a.m. March 9 in the Juvenile Courtroom of the Family Court Center, 29 W. Cherry Way, Washington.

Court records show that Mr. Adams was serving a sentence for driving under the influence of alcohol.
