Injury clears roster spot for Pirates' Burnett

The Pirates put Rule 5 draft pick Gustavo Nunez on the 60-day disabled list Monday because of a right ankle injury.
The move cleared a spot on the 40-man roster for A.J. Burnett, whom the Pirates acquired from the New York Yankees in a trade that became official Sunday night.
The Pirates selected Nunez, 24, from the Detroit Tigers organization in the Dec. 8 Rule 5 draft. He hit .276 in a 2011 season split between Class A and AA.
